His track record of commitment to Latin America and the Caribbean brings hope for strengthening the ties between our nations in defense of democracy, economic freedom, and regional peace. His appointment represents a decisive endorsement of the principles of liberty and a strong rejection of authoritarianism that threatens the stability and development of our countries.
We trust that, under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Rubio, the United States will continue to be a strategic ally in the defense of human rights and in the consolidation of a free and democratic hemisphere.
